Dacres is inviting hundreds of school pupils from across North Yorkshire to enter the competition to design a house for the Queen to help celebrate the forthcoming Platinum Jubilee in June.

Senior sales negotiator, Elizabeth Lord, from Dacre, Son & Hartley, said: “We are appealing to Key Stage 2 pupils in year 3, 4, 5 and 6 at primary schools across the Ripon area to let their imaginations run wild and design the Queen a new house.

We see this as a great opportunity for the children to have some fun, and the winner will win a superb art hamper for their school, as well as having their artwork displayed in our vast window in Ripon’s marketplace.”

The competition is free, and any pupils can submit their entries on an A3 piece of paper by close of business on Friday 20th May 2022 to Loui Hartley, at Dacre Son & Hartley, 10 Queen Street, Ripon, North Yorkshire, HG4 1ED.

Entries will be judged by area director, Paul Baxter, and schools will be notified of the winner by Monday 30th May.

Paul added: “In previous years we have run very successful art competitions with schools and chosen 12 images for our corporate calendar. We were keen to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this year and can’t wait to see the entries.

“We pride ourselves on working closely with the communities in which we operate and it’s fantastic to be able to involve local schools and encourage pupils to participate in this creative competition at what will be a very special time for everyone.”
