DACRES ‘KNOCK UP’ FUNDS FOR LOCAL HOSPICE

A team of 10 from across the business will raise vital funds for a local hospice by taking part in a fun competition, which is being organised by the Ilkley Manorlands Fundraising group.
The ‘It’s a Knock Out’ event will take place on the Riverside Memorial Gardens in Ilkley on Saturday 8th September. The event will feature inflatables, bubbles, music and madcap competitions, as well as stalls and activities for spectators.
Liz Snell, from the Ilkley Manorlands Fundraising group, is looking forward to the event and said: “Sue Ryder Manorlands is the main provider of hospice care for the Ilkley area. This event is a great chance for people to have a brilliant time whilst benefitting a cause that helps local people and their families, when they need it most.”
Manorlands hospice is situated in West Yorkshire on the northern edge of the village of Oxenhope. The hospice provides palliative care and complementary therapy services to support people with life-limiting conditions which can involve complex physical or psychological problems. The specialist palliative care focuses on helping resolve these problems whilst supporting family, carers and close friends. The hospice offers support to people living in Craven, Airedale, and Wharfedale as well as central, northern and western areas of Bradford.
Wharfedale area director, Paul Wilson, said: “There are just a few corporate places left in this entertaining and enjoyable event, or friends and family can make up a team of 10 and take part, so we would encourage people to come and join in the fun. We know what an amazing job the hospice does, and look forward to playing a part in raising vital funds to support it.” 
Locally, Dacre Son & Hartley also supports Ilkley Carnival, the Burley Summer Festival, Ilkley Rugby Club, Ilkley Football Club, Ilkley Cycling Club, Otley Rugby Club and Ben Rhydding’s hockey club.
