Regular transport services provide convenient travel into Leeds and surrounding areas, whilst the nearby outer ring road offers easy access to business centres further afield.

Families are well served by a range of good schools including Roundhay High School, one of the first all-through schools in the region, which provides education for pupils aged 4 to 18 and was rated outstanding by Ofsted in its 2013 report. The highly regarded independent school, The Grammar School at Leeds, is also nearby.

Roundhay Park

Residents of Rounday and Oakwood are fortunate to have on their doorstep one of the largest city parks in Europe. Roundhay Park has more than 700 acres of parkland, woods, lakes, tennis courts and gardens. It attracts over 1 million people each year and plays host to concerts and other events. The massive scale of the park means that there are always peaceful spots to enjoy. For local people it is almost like their own private garden; a wonderful, year-round leisure amenity to be enjoyed at any time of day whether for family fun, dog walking, fitness pursuits or quiet contemplation of the changing seasons.

Moortown Golf Club

Golf enthusiasts of all abilities are sure to appreciate living in proximity to Moortown Golf Club. It has a well deserved reputation as one of the country's finest Championship golf courses. Set in 175 acres of mainly level woodland and moorland.

Park Run

Park runs are a great fun way to keep fit for free! Roundhay’s Park Run takes place every Saturday at 9am in the beautiful surroundings of Roundhay Park. Park runs are 5km run – no racing, just  you against the clock! All park runs are free but you will need to register to become part of the group which means you’ll get your own personal barcode for your timings for each run – making sure you can track your fitness levels!

The Mansion

The Mansion is a Grade II listed classical building set in the centre of Roundhay Park with fabulous views over the 700 acre parkland. The lovingly restored Yorkshire landmark features a tree-lined drive up to a sweeping staircase, panoramic park views with immaculate interior spaces and is home to the Garden Room restaurant. The Garden Room has deservedly developed a dedicated local following over the years and serves lunch, dinner and afternoon tea in fabulous surroundings.
