Horsforth Area Guide

North Leeds Branch Manager Emma Winterhalder on what's available for residents living in this thriving Leeds suburb

With many local amenities, including a wide choice of shops, recreational facilities and nearby riverside/canal walks, Horsforth is a popular and convenient residential area.

Horsforth is ideally placed for local commutes and journeys further afield. Its a short drive into the centre of Leeds and the nearby ring road provides easy access to Yorkshire's key commercial centres with convenient motorway connections for onward journeys. Horsforth train station has regular services to Leeds and York. Heading away from the city, the A65 gives easy access to Ilkley, Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales. Leeds Bradford International Airport is nearby at Yeadon.

Families living in Horsforth have a wide range of good state schools close at hand, as well as independent schools such as The Froebelian School, which is always ranked highly in The Sunday Times Top Independent Schools Listing, and Woodhouse Grove School in nearby Apperley Bridge.

Horsforth is a lively, friendly community. Look one way and the city lights of Leeds promise excitement; in the other direction, the open spaces of the Yorkshire Dales beckon. It really is a place offering the best of both worlds.
