More than 600 people entered our competition to win a £200 voucher for the Blue Lion at East Witton. The competition was run on our stand at the Great Yorkshire Show, where a team from across our network of offices hosted and met clients, friends and visitors to the three day spectacular.

Paul Klein, who has owned the Blue Lion with wife Helen since 1990, drew the winner, Vanessa Pheasey, from several correct ‘Yorkshire Landmarks’ competition entries. The competition asked people to correctly identify six iconic locations from across the region. We were exhibiting on stand 214, to the left of the main ring within the country pursuits area, offering refreshments and a comfortable place to take a break to the thousands of people attending the show.

Vanessa said: “"What a lovely way to remember the show! A big thank you to the team at Dacres who made us feel so welcome on the day and such a lovely surprise to win the competition."

Area manager Chris O’Mahony, said: “It’s the biggest and best show in the region with something for everyone. Our stand had a consistent flow of visitors every day, and it was a delight to see so many people eager to take part in our competition. Despite some of the predictions for rain, the weather was kind, and it was a great opportunity for us to showcase the huge range of services we offer.

“Alongside our thriving residential property arm that has 21 offices across the region, we were also able to profile our surveying, agricultural and commercial offerings. We also chatted through the current market conditions and answered questions about the property market, which always proves to be a hot topic.”
