A Knaresborough estate agent has sold three village properties in quick succession, generating multiple viewings and offers for all of them.

Dacre, Son & Hartley generated 22 viewings and nine offers in just eight days of bringing Fleur Cottage in Goldsborough onto the market. It quickly launched two further village homes in Nun Monkton and Kirk Hammerton – both of which have sold in a matter of weeks.

Senior associate Nick Alcock, who is the branch manager at Dacre, Son & Hartley’s High Street office in Knaresborough, said: “West Side Farm in Nun Monkton was marketed for £600,000 and we secured a sale for well in excess of the guide price within a week. At the same time, we bought Damson Cottage in Kirk Hammerton onto the market for £850,000. We attracted 16 people to view the property and two offers in just ten days.

“There is strong demand for properties along the A59 corridor between York and Harrogate and the hamlets and villages surrounding Knaresborough at the moment. We unfortunately had to disappoint some buyers, who missed out on these homes, but have just launched two more village properties this week – on Bernard Lane in Green Hammerton and one in Hopperton.”

Westfield is on the market for £750,000. Nick added: “Situated within the heart of this highly regarded village, this is a rare opportunity to buy an attractive four bedroom detached family home which is set amidst large gardens extending to approximately 0.83 acres. There is excellent potential for an extension or redevelopment, as there is a large brick outbuilding within its grounds, which could be transformed into an office or granny flat subject to all the usual consents.

“With a long driveway and a large tarmac parking area for numerous vehicles, a caravan or boat, there is also a detached garage with a utility area that has space and plumbing for a washing machine. The lawned garden wraps around one side of the property and to the front there is a large, raised terrace bounded by mature trees. It’s a great property and plot that should attract plenty of interest from buyers.”

Wynreed is on the market for £595,000 and is a beautifully appointed and spacious four bedroom detached family home in the hamlet of Hopperton. Nick added: “Hopperton enjoys a great location between Knaresborough and York, just off the A59, and it’s another fabulous rural setting that gives buyers the chance to live in a home with delightful aspects across open fields.”
