TEN YEAR OLD WINS OTLEY CARNIVAL COMPETITION
The winner of Otley Carnival's Poster Competition was announced at the Carnival Queen's Selection evening. The Competition was generously sponsored by Dacre Son & Hartley and Director Tim Usherwood announced the Overall Winner:
Evie Crabtree aged 10 of Askwith Primary School
Tim then presented Evie with her Shield, certificate and book token along with a t-shirt with Evie's design printed on, which had been kindly produced and donated by Colourfusion of Otley.
He said: “We are delighted to sponsor this year’s carnival poster competition.
“The carnival is one of the most important events in Otley’s calendar and I am sure Evie’s lovely poster will help sell a record number of programmes. Many thanks to the carnival committee, it was a lovely evening.”
The winners in the age groups were: Aged 5: Isabel Charlton of Westgate Primary School, Aged 6 Stanley Robinson of Pool in Wharfedale Cof E, Aged 7, Martin Hall of Otley All Saints Primary School, Aged 8 Isabella Yip Otley of All Saint's, Aged 9 Felicity Pyle Askwith Primary School, Aged10 Harriet Michael of Westgate School and Aged 11 Oliver Burgess of Askwith Primary School
The age group winners of the competition will have their designs printed on the back of the cover, and some posters will be displayed in businesses showing that they are selling the Carnival Programmes. Otley Carnival Committee wishes to thank all the children and schools for taking part.
