OPENING THE TAP TO REDUCE PLASTIC WASTE
The campaign, known as Refill, aims to make it normal and easy for people to carry a reusable bottle that they can fill up for free when they’re out and about, preventing plastic pollution by making it easier to reuse an existing bottle rather than buying water in a single-use bottle.
As part of the campaign we will fill up reusable water bottles at our offices in Ilkley, Guiseley, Skipton, Otley, Ripon, Pateley Bridge and Bramhope.
According to Refill, less than 30% of people in the UK drink tap water in a reusable bottle, the average person in the UK uses 150 plastic water bottles every year and a million plastic bottles are bought around the world every minute.

Refill makes filling up a reusable water bottle easy and more socially acceptable than buying water in a single-use plastic bottle, which all too often end up polluting landscapes and seas, and can be lethal for fish and marine life. It’s a great initiative that is easy to implement and we’re delighted to be able to support it and contribute towards reducing the impact of plastic waste.”
