Our Knaresborough office (the top performing estate agent in Knaresborough) has achieved double the number of sales during May, compared to the same period last year.

Dacres Knaresborough, which is based on the High Street, completed almost  £4 million worth of property sales in just four weeks, with 25% of those sales going to best and final offers, achieving in excess of their asking prices.

Senior Associate Nick Alcock, who is the branch manager, says: “The property market in Knaresborough and the surrounding villages is very buoyant with demand for certain types of homes far outstripping supply.  Our figures also show that from January through to April, we have achieved almost 101% of the asking price for clients, which means that vendors selling with us really are getting the best possible price for their home.

“Although some people might be tempted by the fixed fees on offer from online only and call centre based estate agents, it’s the local knowledge and considered valuation price that an experienced operator, with a local branch can provide, that is the key to achieving a successful sale at the very best possible price.”

Following the busy few months, Nick and his team are now keen to replenish the firm’s stock. Nick adds: “We have buyers who missed out on certain properties who are in a strong position to make a purchase, so if anyone is thinking about selling they should get in touch for a free market appraisal.”

Three properties that the firm has bought to market are The Old Orchard in Hopperton, 10 Bond End and 8 Park Square, both in Knaresborough.

The Old Orchard is on the market for £950,000 and is a magnificent five bedroom detached family home set within a private garden and paddock, extending to 2.5 acres in a highly sought after semi-rural location. 10 Bond End is on the market for £295,000 and is an attractive, well-appointed and characterful three bedroom Grade II listed townhouse with a contemporary glass box extension, situated within a convenient location near the town centre, with no onward chain. 8 Park Square is on the market for £200,000 and is a characterful cottage which has recently been beautifully renovated. It’s in the town centre and is set within an attractive cobbled courtyard of properties.
