Karen from Bingley has won a luxurious spa day and dinner for two in the award-winning Macleod’s Restaurant at The Coniston Hotel Country Estate and Spa in Skipton, after winning a competition hosted by our Skipton office.
We were a key sponsor during Skipton’s Christmas Lights Switch On, and hosted a festive marquee directly next to the main stage, where visitors were challenged to identify four Skipton landmarks from abstract photographs. Karen correctly identified Skipton Castle, Malham Cove, Kilnsey Crag and The Priory at Bolton Abbey, and was then entered into a prize draw with the other successful entrants.

Julia Green, who heads the Skipton office, said: “This year’s Christmas lights switch-on was a really spectacular event and a fun-packed day from start to finish. Thousands of visitors, as well as lots of new and existing clients, passed through our marquee during the afternoon, and many took part in our competition to win a selection of fantastic prizes from The Coniston Hotel Country Estate and Spa. We’re delighted to present Karen with her prize and there’s no doubt she’ll have a wonderful day sampling the best that the hotel has to offer.”

Karen added: “We really enjoyed our day at Skipton’s Christmas Lights Switch On and winning this competition is the icing on the cake. The Coniston Hotel has an excellent reputation and I’m really looking forward to spending a relaxing day in the spa before enjoying a meal in Macleod’s Restaurant. We may even make a night of it and book an overnight stay as well so we can really relax and enjoy the experience, we have always wanted to visit so we are over the moon.”
Sponsoring Skipton’s Christmas Lights Switch On coincided with the completion of a comprehensive refurbishment programme at the Skipton office on Sheep Street, which included installing state of the art window displays, new flooring and furniture, an upgraded IT system and a comfortable seating area. In addition, all the external woodwork on the Grade II listed building has been completely restored.
