HUGS ALL ROUND FOR HOSPITAL PATIENTS
Lesley Noble and a group of supporters provide patients on the Haematology Ward, and their families and visitors, with a special tray, known as the ‘Hug on a Tray’, which consists of china cups, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and snacks. The group also uses the money raised to pay for as much free TV as it can afford.
The patient support group, who are known as the ‘Chevin socialites Otley’ on Facebook, have made it their mission to give everyone being treated for blood cancer, a special ‘Hug on a Tray’ when they arrive at hospital.
The ladies are running a country music and line dancing fundraising event this Friday at the Manhattan Club in Harrogate and have been appealing for donations to raffle on the night. All funds raised on the night will be in memory of the late Linda Steel.
Senior Associate Nick Alcock, who is the branch manager at the Knaresborough office, said: “Our senior negotiator Joe Blakey is Linda’s nephew, and we were keen to donate a prize. We wish Lesley all the very best with the fundraising evening this Friday. What she and the rest of the group are doing to support patients being treated for blood cancer really makes a difference and is very generous of them.”
