One of the finest homes within an acclaimed and historic mill conversion that’s surrounding by glorious countryside in the Nidderdale village of Glasshouses, just a mile from Pateley Bridge, is for sale with leading Yorkshire estate agent, Dacre, Son & Hartley.

The four bedroom home, known as The School House, is part of the Glasshouses Mill development and offers 1,894 sq ft of high quality living space, spread over three floors, with large enclosed gardens and parking for two vehicles.

The property has a welcoming reception hall with guest cloakroom and a luxury kitchen with integrated appliances opening into a superb lounge or dining area, which is a perfect place to relax and entertain, with twin French doors opening directly onto a sheltered sun terrace.
On the first floor, there’s an en-suite master bedroom, two further double bedrooms and a superb house bathroom. Finally, on the second floor, there is a fourth bedroom with gallery feature.

Alison Reilly, from Dacre, Son & Hartley’s Pateley Bridge office, said: “Glasshouses Mill is a beautiful development in a popular village and within easy walking distance of Pateley Bridge, along the tranquil River Nidd. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the great outdoors with endless walks and cycle routes right on the doorstep.

“The School House is a very spacious home that blends the character of the historic mill building with contemporary living accommodation. Outside, the wraparound sun terrace and walled lawned gardens, which back onto the lane leading down to the banks of the River Nidd, are a real highlight.”

Glasshouses Mill dates back to the 1700s and was originally a corn mill. When Nidderdale became the centre of Yorkshire’s flax and linen industry in the early 19th century, Glasshouses Mill grew into a major complex, complete with its own gasworks, rail stop and reservoir, that processed linen and hemp.

The mill eventually closed in 1972 and sat empty for several decades before it was transformed into 32 family homes, apartments and cottages, by North Yorkshire property developer Newby, with work completing in 2020.

The School House is priced at £580,000. For more details contact Dacre, Son & Hartley on 01423 711010 or click here.
