FIRST PHASE OF HISTORIC MILL CONVERSION COMPLETES
There is now just one home still available to rent at the development, which is being marketed by our office in Morley, with 48 apartments already reserved.
Tingley Mills, which was built in the 1880s, has been redeveloped by Manchester based MMR Group. The firm has a strong track record for converting derelict and historic buildings, with a focus on redundant mills and large office buildings, into unique homes for the rentals market and has scooped several prestigious awards from Homes England and Local Authority Building Control (LABC) in recent years.
Following the successful conversion of Tingley Mills’ two main three storey Victorian buildings, the £5 million second phase of the scheme will start later this year and will see a collection of 22, three and four-bedroom, internally bespoke family homes built within the site. These will be released for sale early next year with Dacre, Son & Hartley Morley.
All the rental apartments are fully furnished to an exceptional standard and include a mix of one-and two-bedroom homes, as well as a selection of exceptional top floor apartments with high ceilings and exposed beams.
Each home has a contemporary kitchen, with integrated fridge/freezer, dishwasher, halogen electric hob, and washer/dryer, as well as fitted wardrobes, storage, cloakrooms, flat screen TVs, 1500 pocket sprung mattresses, energy efficient electric heating and LED spot lighting. The development also benefits from a magnificent marble lift providing access to the upper floors, a secure parking area complete with electric vehicle charging points and number plate recognition technology, cycle storage facilities, CCTV and a 24-hour concierge service in the site’s original gatehouse.
The apartments are ready to move straight into and the last remaining two-bedroom, two-bathroom home is priced at £925 per calendar month.
Gavin Townsend, who heads up our Morley office, said: “This development is unlike anything Morley or the surrounding area has seen before. The quality throughout the whole scheme, from the opulent hotel style marble lobby to the luxurious finish and generous living space in every apartment is exceptional. When this is combined with all the original character features that have been restored, such as high beamed ceilings and large windows, and its great location, just a couple of minutes from the M62, it’s easy to see why these apartments are proving so popular.
“The last remaining home won’t be available for long and we’d urge anyone interested to contact us now to arrange a viewing to avoid missing out.”
Joseph Grunfeld, from MMR Group, added: “Although a lot of Tingley Mills had fallen into a state of disrepair, we could immediately see its potential and how it fit with our ethos of giving historic buildings a new lease of life and a sustainable future.
“We could also envisage how the site’s original buildings would be fantastic places to live because they’re light, airy and brimming with character. We’ve worked hard to create a great design style, paid extraordinary attention to detail and invested heavily in high-quality landscaping featuring lavish natural stone features and heritage lamp posts, and the result is a very special development.”
Other highly successful local developments that MMR Group has completed in recent years include No 2 Mill Street, Empire House, Manor Apartments, Gratton House and The School Apartments which are all in Bradford city centre and offer a combined total of more than 340 apartments. The company is due to start work transforming a former school in Dewsbury into a gated community of luxury rental apartments and is currently exploring further opportunities and historic mill developments throughout West Yorkshire and beyond.
