DACRES PARADES ITS SUPPORT OF SKIPTON GALA

The popular Skipton Gala at Aireville Park, which has been raising money for many of Skipton’s charities for 100 years, has received further backing from our Skipton office.

The Skipton Gala takes place on Saturday 8th June 2019 and Dacres’ Skipton team will be hosting a stand and running a competition asking people to guess how many balloons are squeezed into the Dacres company car, to win a giant, cuddly teddy, as well as giving away goodie bags, water bottles and balloons. Members of the team will also be taking part in the Gala procession in the firm’s branded car. 
The first Gala took place on Saturday 13th July 1901 to raise money for the local hospital. There will be a procession through the town from 1pm starting at Westmoreland Street via Sackville Street, Keighley Road, High Street, Mill Bridge, Water Street and Gargrave Road via the Swimming Pool Entrance leading to Aireville Park where there will be stalls, floats and birds of prey display plus the Jack Carthy Trials Bike show, Mega Slam wrestling and Waddingtons Fun Fair.

All money raised will be donated to Friends of Aireville Park, Skipton Dance Crew, Skipton Young Carers, Craven Mental Health, Carers Resource, Skipton Community Orchestra, Skipton Cricket Club, Skipton Town Football Club, Skipton and Craven Parents group, St Andrews Playgroup, Embsay/Eastby playgroup, Elite Karate Centre, 5th Skipton Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Skipton District Athletics, Firefighters – junior and Trinity Church.
