DACRES COLLECTS MORE THAN 200 GIFTS FOR MISSION CHRISTMAS

Dacre, Son & Hartley’s team, clients and friends have donated more than 200 gifts to disadvantaged children in West Yorkshire.

Throughout December, Dacres has been supporting Radio Aire’s Cash for Kids and Mission Christmas campaign, which collects and distributes thousands of presents each year for babies through to 18 year olds, living in poverty, who would otherwise not receive a single present on Christmas Day.

Anyone wanting to donate a gift has been able to drop them off at Dacres’ offices in Bramhope, North Leeds, Otley, Guiseley, Ilkley, Wetherby, Burley in Wharfedale and Keighley. In addition, many of the firm’s team members have donated presents to the appeal.

This year Mission Christmas received applications for gifts for 26,143 local children which the organisation successfully fulfilled.

Emma Kerrywood, from Dacre, Son & Hartley, said: “Mission Christmas really epitomises the spirit of Christmas and the generosity that our team and clients have shown in recent weeks is phenomenal. We’ve been bowled over by the level of support and to be able to deliver more than 200 presents to the Mission Christmas HQ was fantastic.

“Every gift means that hundreds of children and young people will be able to enjoy the magic of Christmas, which comes from unwrapping a present. Mission Christmas do an amazing job every year and to think that they’ve collected, wrapped and distributed more than 26,000 gifts in the last few weeks in West Yorkshire is just unbelievable."

Mission Christmas is now the biggest Toy Appeal in the UK.  In 2018 it distributed gifts to more than 294,000 disadvantaged kids across the UK – with 27,215 of the recipients living in West Yorkshire.
