We are currently handling a number of sales to investors across our Skipton and Settle offices.

The vast majority of Craven’s investors are attracted by Skipton and Settle’s good transport links, proximity to the Yorkshire Dales, an excellent choice of schools and the area’s buoyant rentals market.  Prices in Craven are also more affordable than many neighbouring towns including Ilkley and Harrogate.

Jason Preston, an Associate at Dacres who leads our Settle office, explains: “Despite recent changes meaning anyone buying a second home or investment property now pays an additional 3 per cent on top of the usual stamp duty threshold, the majority of seasoned investors are undeterred and continue to buy across Craven.

“Most are keen to take advantage of continued low interest rates and high tenant demand which continues to outstrip the supply of rental property currently available.  As a result, we have a wide range of investors registered with us who are looking for smart, low-maintenance properties that are well-presented and realistically priced throughout Settle and Skipton.”

Tim Usherwood, a Director at Dacres, who heads up our Skipton office, adds: “Homes within easy walking distance of Skipton’s amenities are particularly sought after, such as many of the traditional two and three bedroom terraced homes in the Middletown area.  There are also a good range of modern apartments in the town centre which are always extremely popular.

“One such scheme is The Cotton Mill, which we’re currently marketing.  The development is already attracting investor interest alongside high numbers of enquiries from owner-occupiers who are looking for an exceptional home, within the final phase of Skipton’s Belle Vue Mills development.”

Belle Vue Mills, by award winning development company Rushbond Plc, overlooks the Leeds Liverpool Canal in Skipton town centre and is just 300 metres from the town’s railway station.

The Cotton Mill will consist of 39, one and two bedroom, loft-style apartments alongside a new gym, and the first homes are due for completion during Autumn this year.  All the apartments will offer a very fresh European style, yet retain the essence of the Mill’s heritage, which will appeal to local people as well as professionals working in Leeds and the wider area.  The first release of 10 apartments are priced from £115,000 and further information is available at www.thecottonmill.co.uk

We are also currently offering a special summer offer to entice landlords and property owners to use our lettings services at our Skipton and Settle offices.  We are charging a flat fee of just £295 + VAT for our ‘let only’ service, across Craven, until the end of September, subject to terms and conditions.

In addition, discounted rates are also available on our fully managed service, which deals with everything from rent collections to moving days.  Anyone wanting further information should call our Skipton office on 01756 701010 or our Settle office on 01729 823921 to arrange a free, no obligation market appraisal.  With 20 offices and 164 members of staff across North and West Yorkshire we are Yorkshire's largest independent estate agent.
