As more buyers look to purchase homes outside the city, countryside and seaside locations have increased in popularity, according to leading estate agents, Dacre, Son & Hartley.

The firm is currently marketing a two-bedroom apartment in the seaside town of Cleveleys, which is less than five miles from Blackpool and three miles from the seaside resort of Fleetwood.

Philip Garnett, who heads up Dacre, Son & Hartley’s Elland office, said: “Seaside towns have fared particularly well during the pandemic, with many buyers now being able to work from home. Also, there is plenty of demand from buyers looking to buy coastal properties as second homes for staycations.

“Cleveleys has a great town centre and it’s on the famous Blackpool to Fleetwood tramway. With nice local shops and amenities right by the sea. It’s a compact place that’s easy to navigate and has plenty of pavement cafes, shops and entertainment – all right next to the seafront.”

Cleveleys forms part of the Blackpool Urban Area and is on the Fylde Coast of Lancashire. Philip added: “The apartment we are marketing is on the second floor of the very popular Admiral Sound development, which has spectacular sea views. Its ideally place for local amenities and the promenade and within easy reach of the trams, so it’s a great location.”

207 Admiral Sound is on the market for £200,000. The apartment has a spacious entrance hall, a bright and airy living room with sea views and a modern fitted kitchen with integrated appliances. The two double bedrooms also both have seas views, and the main bedroom has a three-piece en-suite shower room. Completing the accommodation is the main bathroom and useful storage cupboard. Outside there is an allocated parking space and communal gardens.

Philip added: “The promenade is right opposite the western elevation of the desirable development, which has a lift to all floors and secure door entry system. Cleveleys town centre is just a five-minute walk, so residents can enjoy everything the bustling town has to offer, including a host of national retailers like Marks and Spencer and an array of independent shops, cafes, traditional pubs, a cinema, opticians, health centre and dentists. From the bus station there are regular services, to Blackpool, Fleetwood and beyond. There are also frequent trams from Cleveleys, which run north to south along the coast so it’s a great base to explore the Fylde Coast from.”
