ATHLETICS SQUAD ON TRACK WITH SPONSORSHIP

We have become a major sponsor of Leeds Beckett Athletics Union with our branding now emblazoned alongside the finish line of the university’s running track.

The track side banners were installed earlier this month for Leeds Varsity, a fiercely contested competition between Leeds Beckett and arch rivals at the University of Leeds.  

This year saw Leeds Beckett’s men’s athletics track and field team win by 73 to 46 and the women enjoyed an even bigger victory, winning by 72 to 31.  Members of Dacre, Son & Hartley’s team were there to support Leeds Beckett and provided the athletes with branded water bottles.  Events include sprints, middle distance, jumps, throws, relays and the one-mile race walk, which saw home team student Callum Wilkinson set a new GB all time under-23 best performance of 5 minutes 57.76 seconds.

Paul Baxter, Area Director, who also assists in coaching the sprint group of Leeds Beckett’s track and field team, said: “Leeds Beckett University has a hugely successful track and field team, as well as superb facilities, and as a local company that takes pride in supporting grass roots sport, and with a busy North Leeds office, it’s a great organisation for us to sponsor.  
“Leeds Varsity has become one of the city’s biggest and best annual sports competitions, so it was the ideal event to unveil our finish line banners at, and especially because Leeds Beckett secured such a stunning victory.”
