Yorkshire’s largest independent estate agent, Dacre, Son & Hartley, is reporting almost a 20% increase in the number of deals agreed this month in comparison to October.

The leading estate agent has also had more than 1,200 people register an interest in buying with them since 1st October 2022.

Patrick McCutcheon, head of residential at Dacre, Son & Hartley, which has 21 offices in West and North Yorkshire, said: “As our figures prove there is plenty of appetite out there and people are continuing to buy and sell across North and West Yorkshire.”

The findings follow Dacre, Son & Hartley agreeing sales on more than 100 homes in October despite the government’s mini budget fiasco and rising mortgage rates.

Patrick added: “There has been a lot of mixed messages from Government and with negative reports on the economic outlook, interest rate rises and the impact on house prices, it would be easy to think that the property market has come to a standstill. That is simply not the case. Many homebuyers are keen to get moving and the usual reasons for wanting or having to move up or down the ladder remain the same.

“The key to getting an offer and exchanging is to ask the price right in the first place and listen to the considered advice provided by an experienced local agent with wide reach across the region and beyond.”

Dacre, Son & Hartley has 21 offices across West and North Yorkshire and has been operating for over 200 years.
