Our agricultural division has expanded with the appointment of assistant land agent, Andrew Consett.
Based in Ilkley, Andrew has been appointed in response to an increase in the number of rural property holdings and country estates that the thriving division manages.
Andrew graduated from the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester with a degree in agricultural management two years ago, and joins having assisted in the management of farms and estates in the UK, Ghana and Portugal.
Andrew says: “I have been lucky enough to gain a huge variety of experience including assisting in the management of a large-scale private Estate in Suffolk, acting as farm manager and head of crop production in Ghana, and also taking an active role in forestry and drainage for a North Yorkshire based Estate and associated farms. I have also worked on farms in Australia and New Zealand and spent time as a sporting agent.
“I have gained a cross-section of relevant skills to date and I was keen to join a respected firm like Dacres, to further my career as a land agent.”
Andrew’s role will involve assisting the head of the department, Ian Cox, with the sale, purchase and management of agricultural, forestry and sporting estates throughout the North of England. He will work across a wide portfolio of clients from single farms to some of the finest country estates in the region.
Director, Ian, says: “We work for major pension funds, charities and land owners handling everything from compulsory purchase and pipeline negotiations, to compensation claims, lettings of land, farms and sporting rights, as well as providing management and consultancy services on all aspects of rural property work. Andrew is a bright and enthusiastic agent who will no doubt become a valuable asset to our experienced team.”
