DACRES‚ PEDAL POWER RAISES CASH FOR CHARITIES
Yorkshire‚s leading firm of independent estate agents, Dacre Son & Hartley has raised £1,450 for two charities by taking part in this year‚s Great Milk (Stout) Ride in Pateley Bridge.
17 staff members and their families and friends pedalled either the 10 mile or 20 mile course up and down North Yorkshire hills to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support and Wooden Spoon ˆ the charity of British and Irish Rugby supporting mentally, physical and disadvantaged children.
The team raised £900 through sponsorship with Dacre Son & Hartley donating an additional £550. New Homes Director John Shaw said: „This was the first time we have taken part in the race and we are delighted with the amount raised. We are keen supporters of both MacMillan and Wooden Spoon and this money will help to make a real difference.
We were amongst about 400 cyclists on the day and there was a great atmosphere at the Nidderdale Agricultural Society‚s showground when we crossed the finish line. We are delighted to have raised this money and will hopefully have recovered in time to take part again next year!
The Great Milk (Stout) Ride raised £30,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support this year and
has raised over £371,000 for Macmillan, since its inception in 1993. For more information visit www.gmsr.co.uk
